Kid’s Club Prep, Kid’s Club, & Kid’s Club Transition

Kid’s Club Prep: Ages 3-4 Years

The youngest participants in the Plus One Program will work on developing Reciprocal Social and Play interactions to lay a foundation  for building more complex social skills. Group and peer imitation are developed as well as joint attention skills. Children develop group learning skills and learn to discriminate between group and individual instructions.  Beginning self-monitoring and calming skills are taught and practiced.

Kid’s Club: Ages 4-6 Years

This group focuses on building cooperative and pretend play skills. Self-regulation skills are explored and developed throughout the sessions.  Children learn to not only become active participants in group but lead peers and follow peer directions as well throughout activities.  Joint attention skills are expanded through showing and sharing with each other.  Social language is a focus as children learn to spontaneously greet their friends, make requests, ask for help, and rely on each other more for support during activities.

 

kid’s club - t (transition to elementary): ages 5-7 years

This groups will continue to expand pretend play skills expand into role play and larger theme play. Games that involve strategy and following more complex rules are introduced. This group is expected to participate in more structured group lessons as they prepare for transition to elementary programs. Social language and social skills encompass self awareness of emotions, self-advocacy, compromise, accepting no, offering help, and manners.
